The historical collection
"Aquile Rosa :
Stories of aviatrix
1910-1950" has
been authorized to bear
the logo of the Aeronautica
Militare in 2011. The
collection was shown
for the first time ever
in 2007 at the military
airport of Pratica di
Mare.

The
historical collection
"Aquile Rosa
: Stories of aviatrix
1910-1950"
consists of the original
paperwork on the aviatrix
(magazines, posters,
postcards, letters
and travel) all dating
to the period between
1910 and 1950. All
the material on display
comes from the private
collection of Dr.
Francesca Bittarello
and was found over
the years all over
the world: that is
why in several languages
and covers the aviatrix
in the world in the
period covered by
the collection. Currently
Aquile
Rosa
collection includes
about 100 pieces in
its original. All
the material is of
great historical significance
and has within it
considered rare pieces.
In choosing the material
component of the acquisition,
the collection has
given priority to
the material contained
photos or illustrations
of the aviatrix, each
piece has its own
illustration it is
drawn or photographed.
Admiring the exhibit
is "transported"
in a fascinating time
travel in real faces
and stories of our
past testimony aviators.
Each decade is well
documented with numerous
aviatrix, the collection
starts from 1910 because
it was the March 8
this year that a woman,
the French Elyse De
La Roche, for the
first time the world
reaches a patent approved
by the F.A.I.
( International Aeronautics
Federation ).On
display so you can
enjoy the material
about the first woman
with a patent official
flight, but also material
for a few years earlier
with the various attempts
of other women without
reaching the patent
for the first flight
and tried successfully
to drive alone an
airplane. After thirty
years of documentation
of so many famous
aviatrix and, each
in its present period
that characterizes
the collection period
with the aviatrix
of the Wasp (Women
Airforce Service Pilots)
during World War II
as well as a short
period of time post-war
- until 1950 - with
the rebirth of sports
course, all female.
There are many aviatrix
in the collection
are documented here
and the main world
records obtained in
the same period. In
the long list there
are 3 full Italian
values of three different
historical periods
Rosina Ferrario (the
first aviatrix Italian),
Gaby Angelini and
the Carina Negrone.
Remarkable
is the material of
'aviatrix perhaps
best known to the
general public's American
Amelia Earhart, there
is also the first
woman aviator Sabiha
Gökçen
Turkish woman in the
world to fly a combat
aircraft in 1938 and
aviation official
German Luftwaffe Hanna
Reitsch.
You can relive the
life of famous aviatrix
in history for their
records and aviatrix
less known to the
general public. Not
only success stories
but also stories of
joy and sometimes
unfortunate women
in the tragic end.
The common thread
that unites these
women present in the
Aquile Rosa the passion
for the art of aviation.
Each piece is encased
in clear plastic containers
lined with red fabric,
which besides being
pleasing and elegant
ensure quick and easy
viewing by visitors
without the material
inside them could
be harmed. The
exhibition can be
obtained by exposure
of the preparations
including on any requests

will always be original
and not photocopied.
